Route Notes BC 24/04 4800m C1 28/04 5800m (all 12 members) C2 30/04 6750m C3 14/05 7550m HPt 14/05 7550m by Bakker-Dyos, Mackie, Percival, Dawa Rita HPt 17/05 6750m by Tait, Webster. During the first summit attempt, Bakker-Dyos, Mackie, Percival reached C2 on 14 May. It was too windy for a summit attempt and after they waited for the weather to improve for two nights, they descended BC. During second summit attempt, Tait and Webster also encountered too much wind and descended to BC after one night at C2. On 20 May Percival and Bakker-Dyos went back to C3 to dismantle the camp and bring it down. All other members apart from Williams reached C2 at some point during the expedition. The reason for them not getting higher is that it was an expedition by the British Army and the goal was to summit as a team effort. Williams reached C1 on 28 April. He got scared as on 13 May a small avalanche came down and he and Mellor got almost hit. He remained at BC for the rest of the expedition. Fixed rope: 700m to C2
