| Route Notes | Kerr, Lhakpa Dorje and Pasang Tenji started on summit bid on 18 May at 9:30 pm, summited on 19 May at 11:30 am, stayed about 45 minutes on the summit, then returned to C3. Weather was calm and clear following a windstorm the previous night. Conditions were very favourable. Initial progress was quite rapid (following previous summit attempt on 14-15 May), but powder snow on the traverse across the major snowfield slowed them down considerably. Conditions after that were much better with firm snow to climb. Ngima Sherpa stayed at C3 during the summit bid as he was not feeling well. Oxygen: Kerr used oxygen from C2, the Sherpas from C3 (did not use oxgyen below C3 on the descent) |
