Route Notes Seven Summit Treks Dhaulagiri expedition was a combination of several independent teams (1-2 climbers each). Seven Summits provided transportation, base camp facilities and various levels of high altitude support (oxygen, high-altitude porters, tents, etc) as required and contracted for by each team. The individual accounts for each team are given below: Danny Gordin (Israel) Name: None Camps: BC(26/04,4650m),C1(29/04,5700m),C2(30/04,6650m),C3(18/05,7250m), C4(19/05,7450m),xxx(20/05,7550m) Left: 22/05/2016 Hired: 0 Term: Abandoned at 7550m due to strong wind and snow Gordin on 20 May tried to go for summit from higher C3 (defined it above as C4); he was climbing alone, but had to retreat due to weather. Paul Hudson (Australia) Name: None Camps: BC(17/04,4630m),C1(23/04,5710m),C2(30/04,6675m),xxx Left: 19/05/2016 Hired: 0 Term: Abandoned at 6675m due to high winds Hudson retreated from C2 due to high wind forecasts. Rajib Bhattacharya (India) Name: None Camps: Left: Hired: 0 Term: Deceased due to acute mountain sickness and snowblindness Gordin reports that Rajib Bhattacharya (from parallel team of Seven Summit Treks) unfortunately died from mountain sickness (cerebral edema) during summit day on 19 May. Alberto Zerain Reports: Rajib and Tashi Sherpa were also on the way to the summit. Zerain and Galvan overtook them at about 3 am at 7650m. When Zerain came down from the summit he saw Rajib and Tashi also descending, but they were still at the same point at 12 noon. Zerain does not think that Rajib was on the summit. When Zerain reached C3 at about 2 pm he prepared some food. He did not notice that Rajib had been so unwell. Zerain believes that Rajib must have descended a bit farther, but died at about 6600m. He was snowblind and had frostbite. When Zerain reached C2, he heard that the Indian had died.
