Route Notes High point on 4 May at 7400m, 200m above C3 by Rodrigo, Marcelo, and Andreas. On 1 May Rodrigo, Marcelo and Andreas slept again at C1, then at C2 on the 2 May and C3 on the 3 May. The trio attempted for the summit on the 4 May from C3 up to 7400m, facing difficult deep snow conditions in bad weather. They retreated the same day to BC. On the 10 May, the trio slept again at C3 for a summit on the 11 May, but the weather turned stormy and windy that day so they had to go down to BC without going higher than C3. Same day they decided to abandon their attempt. Alejandro was sick most of the expedition (altitude sickness, dehydration), reached 5300m as his high point. It was the 5th Chilean attempt on Dhaulagiri I; this mountain remaining unclimbed from the Chilean nation as is Kangchenjunga.
