Route Notes Oyvin Thon reached the summit ahead of all the members at 12:30 pm. His wife Brit Volden arrived 30 minutes later while Stian Voldmo reached at 1:05 pm. The weather on the summit was excellent, so Oyvin spent around 2 hours in the summit. On their way up, they used around 2000m of running rope. While descending they spent the night at C4 where they arrived at 7 pm. On May 15 they reached C2 and spent the night. They reached the base camp on May 16, where Osland was waiting. Osland had abandoned the climb on May 12, reaching 6200m with the rest of the group. The other two members Bard Lovehaug and Rune Snaprud had also abandoned their climb with Osland, but they returned to Kathmandu on May 12. The members who abandoned the climb had returned to base camp on May 12. "They were scared and did not like the mountain," said Oyvin when asked why they had abandoned.
