Route Notes C1 at NE Col C2 on NE Ridge High point on NE Ridge. Sladami Dhaulagiri 2008 - Wanda Rukkiewicz, led by Anna Czerwinska - 19 May 2008 All members were in C2 on 9 May when Czerwinska went up to leave a deposit gear at 7200m, the site for their C3. But she reached only 7150m, left the gear there and returned to C2. There was heavy snowfall during the night, and next day while the other members descended to BC, she tried to go up to 7150m. However the next day, the 10th it was windy, and climbing completely alone, she was not strong enough: in one hour she had gained only perhaps 100m altitude. She gave up and went down to BC, where the other members were waiting for her. While descending, she started several avalanches: snow conditions were dangerous. They agreed that the climb was finished. So the teams high point was Czerwinska's climb to 7150m on the 9th. Their only health problem was Natkanski's difficulty in breathing on 8 May while he was in C2 -- not a very serious problem, but enough for him to need oxygen. The team had one oxygen bottle with them, but it was in BC, so they borrowed a bottle from a Japanese woman climber, and on the 9th he was well enough to descend to BC by himself. Fixed rope: 100m at crevasses
Accidents Natkanski breathing problem only
