| Route Notes | Lagunilla Alonso and Villan Polo (leader) left C3 at 02:00 hours of 18th. Both reached 7700m at about 05:30 hours and had to turn around due to deep snow conditions and high winds on the upper part of the mountain. Lagunilla Alonso descended to BC which he reached at 14:00 hours. Villan Polo reached C1 at 12:30 hours. Next day to BC. On their summit day there were two Dutch and two Sherpas behind the Villain Polo team. The Dutch team turned around from 50m below the Spanish team. Hungarian team still was on mountain when the Spanish team left BC. The team left BC on May 19 and arrived in Kathmandu on May 29 and will leave the country on June 3. Team member Carlos Soria Fontan thinking to come for Dome Kang, an unclimbed peak near Kangchenjunga in autumn. |
