Route Notes BC southwest of point 4738m C1 near Gustang North Ridge - East Glacier west of this ridge C2 below SW Face of Dhaulagiri V C3 below Dhaulagiri VI West Ridge C4 at bottom of SE Face of Churen East Peak C5 on SE Face of Central Peak. From C5 one team to Central Peak and one to West Peak 9:30 am and returned to C5 1:30 pm and slept there; Central Peak party started from C5 5:10 am and reached summit 9:20 am and returned C5 1:50 pm and slept in C5; difficult climbing from C2 to C3 because had to traverse a peak; next most difficult part was descending from C4 to C5 on way to C5, where was steep ice wall covered by snow on part of it and on part bare ice; fixed total 1700m rope. 2 members who did not make a summit had altitude sickness and remained at C4 2 nights, descended 15th Sept; waited at C2 till summit parties arrived and all together to BC.
Accidents Climbing Ghustung Ridge, 1 member hit in leg by falling stone but climbed later; 2 members who did not make a summit had altitude sickness and stayed at C4 2 nights, descended Sept 15
