Route Notes C1 on the ridge C2 not slept in. The expedition "Extremenos Al Cho Oyu '99" leader said the could not go beyond C2. They used the ropes fixed by New Zealand team. Nincho Expedition (Fermin Aristo). He spent a night on C2 on 25th. Next day 26 had to give up the climb - reason: bad weather, snow. Christian Rasmussen with Sherpa fixed C1 6400m on 11th. The team went upto 6800m on 15th. Decided to give up on Sept 17 (his birthday) due to danger of avalanche. He was also advised by Russell Price (New Zealand team) not to continue due to the bad conditions of weather. (All three teams returned to Kathmandu on 1 Oct).
