| Route Notes | 17th Sept started snowing very hard so left C2 for BC but were caught by avalanche at 7000m about 1:00 pm NST. Johnson started slab avalanche which hit Warner on fixed rope, went over his head and pushed him 50m down, not buried or hurt but "quite scared" - down to ABC and Ok. On 25th Sept up again and reached C2. 26th in C2 till 11:30 am left for top and arrived 8:00 am 27th. Went beyond 26th summiters track and (where saw upper half of Everest and top of Lhotse - 150m from here to where Johnson and Warner went but perhaps 10m lower). Slept in ABC same night, which reached 4:30 pm. |
