Route Notes Nousiainen reached summit on 24th at 13:26 NST. Ahead of her was Nanda Dorje Sherpa, one of her Sherpas, who was in the front party to summit that day, which included Australian woman, Sue Fear, and her "Sherpa" Nima Tamang; with Nousiainen to top was Chhong Ringe, who had summitted Cho Oyu 2 times before (Nanda Dorje once before). Climb was not technically difficult, only tiring - just 2 technical sections on this route: icefall between C1 and C2 and rock band above C3; just before she reached top, there was small avalanche which hurt no one but was frightening. * Asian Trekking's files showed his name as Chhong, born 5 March 64, from Rolwaling, summited Cho Oyu in 1994 with Japanese. Actually he had also summited Cho Oyu with Dutch in May 1998, as this his 3rd ascent, not 5th.
