Route Notes ABC at Tichy site C1 (first time brought gear) C2 (first time brought gear). 24 April all went to C1 and came back to ABC to sleep. 25 April again all except the three went to C1 carrying gear and came back to ABC to sleep. 26 April Mezger, Lipinski and Mayer went to C1 and slept there. On 27 April 2 fixed rope 50m long and between C1 and C2 then went back to ABC to sleep. On 28 April Boehl, Baumhauer, Fuchs, Hefti, Nierle, Werner went to C1 and slept day. On 29 April these six took gear to C2 and slept there. On 30 April came down to ABC. On 30 April all except 9 went to C1 and slept there. Next day all carried gear to C2 and slept there. May 2 Alder, Karle, Kugler, Lipinski, Luiz, Mayer, Teuchert carried gear to C3 and slept at C2. Then on May 30 all went to ABC. On May 5 the six of 1st group and Huelle, Schlenker, Mueller went to C1 to sleep. May 6 the 9 headed for C2 then heard SOS from Spanish team at 7000m. Baumhauer, Boehl, Hefti, Nierle went to rescue them and brought them (4) to C1. Other expeditions brought them to ABC the same night. Some slept at C1 some at C2 that night. May 7 Hefti went C2 and slept there; Fuchs, Werner were already there. The other 6 went to ABC. On 8 May the 3 also went to ABC. On 11 May Alder, Karle, Kugler, Lipinski, Luiz, Mayer, Mezger, Teuchert started from ABC to C1 enroute to summit. On 12 May slept at C2. Very stormy. On 13 May Karle, Luiz, Kugler went down to ABC the others slept at C2 because it was not possible to go up. It was more windy. On 14 May the 5 also went to ABC. On 14 May Baumhauer, Boehl, Fuchs, Hefti, Huelle, Mueller, Nierle, Schlenker and Werner slept at C1. On 15 May all 9 went to C2. On 16 May all except Werner and Hefti went to ABC because it was too windy. The two tried to go to C3 but it was not possible and slept at Slovak's empty tent near 7000m. On 16 May Luiz, Alder, Kugler, Teuchert started for C1; on 17 May they went to C2. On Werner and Hefti came down to ABC. On 17 May Mayer and Mezger and Ang Phintso went from ABC to C2. On 18 May Mayer, Mezger, Teuchert, Kugler and Ang Phintso went to C3 and Luiz and Alder went to ABC. On May 19 the five started at 5:30 am (China Time) for summit [successfully]. On 19 May slept at C3. On 20 May arrived at ABC. On 21 May left with the yaks which had come on May 20. The weather had cleared but no time for 2nd attempt.
