| Route Notes | C3 reached by Rockenbauer, Goger and Chlastak. On 2rd Rockenbauer up alone because other 2 not well acclimatized; he climbed alone and met on summit an Austrian in team member and others from Slovak team at 2:00 pm NST and down to C3. 3rd May Goger and Chlastak to top at 2:00 pm. Both days could see nothing because cloudy but know were on top because found pole and small cross. Rockenbauer to BC on 3rd while others 2 on 4th to C1 and BC 5th. Altitude sickness afflicted Ernst and Hoesle, who never got beyond ABC and left expedition after 1 week. Kaluza to C1 and Nutz to C1 and they got sick and retreated. |
