Route Notes After 28th Sept, down to rest at ABC. On 4th Oct made summit attempt attempt by Athans, Prittie, Woods, Lhakpa Rita and Dawa reached 7900m; windy and cold, so back to C2. 7th same 5 people tried again in warmer and calmer weather. Summit Sherpas: Dawa Sherpa, 1st 8000er, 28 yrs, born in Sikkim, lives in KTM, 2 April 67 Lhakpa Rita, Thami, Everest X3 Lhakpa Rita summited on 4th Oct with Italian Sicouri and his guide. Athans, Woods, Prittie, Dawa and Lhakpa Rita went for top, reached 7700m and all turned back except Lhakpa Rita when Woods got very cold and since he was client, guides descended with him to C2. Lhakpa Rita was ahead and kept on going, caught up with Sicouri and guide and went to top with them - descended to C2 to join his party, then down to ABC for Nepali food and rejoined party on 6th (Dawa down to ABC too & up on 6th). Woods had parts of some fingers amputated after returning home.
