| Route Notes | Made deposit at C3 on 28th Sept & planned to occupy it later but when weather getting colder & very windy, to avoid a wind-battled C3 never occupied it. Hoped one climb client could make resulting long climb, so 6th Oct 4 members set out for top from C2, 3 on oxygen (Viesturs not), but Jewell turned back at 7500m exhausted while other 2 went on up & reached highest (southern) summit, where saw Everest & Lhotse. Perfect weather till winds turned on like clock at beginning of Oct & then much colder. Were very surprised when Japanese Yamanoi descended via normal route. |
