Route Notes In Sept much snow fall. 16th Sept Park & Ngati ABC to C2 & 27th C2 to summit & return to C3 via normal route. C2's 3 tents destroyed 18th Sept 8 pm by avalanche & 6 members & 2 Sherpas inside tents & takes down 100m; all carried down & slept that night in Japanese C2 which was lower; lost tents, gear, shoes, but no one hurt; had been on summit push. Down to ABC & bought items from French (Salino) who were leaving. Made cairn of snow blocks at summit 28th Sept & next day Japanese (Imoto) found it - very good weather "no cloud, no fog, no wind."
