Route Notes 13 May summit bid reached 7950m from C3: Carrasco, Rivera, Santos, Pena & Hermosillo tired, Carrasco developed serious coughing & was very windy & cold; it was only 8 am & should have waited, but believed they could come back another day so down to ABC that day. 21 May Hermosillo went to 8100m from C3, snow began to fall & his footprints being filled in; he feared he would lose his way on descent & abandoned attempt. Carrasco went to C3, feeling strong, but on 24 May they decided not to try for top alone and brought camp down.
