Route Notes 18th Oct Meraldi and Greco made summit attempt and reached 7900m at 1 pm from ABC; very cold, windy and cloudy this day (ABC at 9 am Chinese time - was 15 degrees); most days clear. Giacometti arrived BC 14th and on 18th also tried for top and reached 7000m and turned back when too tired; second attempt planned for 21st Oct but went only to C1 to bring back tent. Meraldi also was very weak after climb. Meraldi and 2 other members (Ferro and Giacometti) went for marathon on 7th Oct at Tingri. Expedition flew to Lhasa on 28th Sept, drove to Shegan on 3rd Oct for marathon on Tingri plain.
