| Route Notes | Japanese were first on mountain, fixed the route and all others this autumn from Nepalese and Tibet followed their route. [* Italian expedition's doctor, an opthamologist, said 30 Sept 92 that all 6 Slovenes had retinal hemorrhages: 4 at start, when went to C2 and they down - 1 of them "general edema" and he recovered and went to C1. 5 who reached summit had severe retinal hemorrhage; one hemorrhage was in center of eye and takes time to clear itself. All summiters except Ales had serious frostbite and Stefan may lose tip of one finger]. |
