Route Notes Between 8 and 17 Sept much snowfall; had to make more direct than Tichy route above C2 because normal route was too dangerous; above C3 big couloir with great snow avalanche danger and climb above not possible. Four French members have stayed on only to bring down camps but not to try for summit. C3 reached only once, on 17th Sept for 1 night only. Larry of French group and Mich of Piazza group returned to KTM on 27th Sept with all of Lenti's Italian and Spanish members. After Lenti group left, went up to C1 and tried to get to C2 but everyday snow fell; reached just below C2 and Sherpas never reached C3 to clean it. French left ABC 29 Sept.
