| Route Notes | Chinese BC at road C3 near NW Ridge High point near NW Ridge. 2 times climbers arrived at C3, once to install camp and once for summit bid, but had to go down next day instead bacause of heavy snowfall and avalanching: 22 Aug - Ruiz and Urbieta established C3. 28 Aug - Gomez and Musal Kaji Tamang to C3; Gomez slept there one night, Tamang "no good" and immediately down. 31 Aug - Another summit team left BC for summit bid but reached only C2. Again heavy snowfall and down from C2 2 Sept to BC. Expedition now finished. 4th Sept sent for yaks, 8th Sept arrived Chinese BC and 9th Sept by road to Khasa. 2 members left early: Lorente with pulmonary edema 11th Aug; from Chinese BC to hospital at Shegar and then to KTM; Rosen with him; "morale not good - mental problem." |
