| Route Notes | C3 just above rock band across face. C3 tent completely destroyed during night of 17-18 Oct, so on 18th instead of making 2nd summit bid, went down all the way to the glacier (to BC) because no tent left and winds not abating. Now had no other high-altitude tent and Langmade had developed frostbite in fingers and toes. Two bags of personal gear stolen by local people; LO and translator had quit. Got back everything by search of Tingri houses; paid Tibet International Sports Travel less than contracted for as a result. Saw body (presumably Stefan Woerner's) wrapped tightly in a tent in a shallow grave at 7400m. |
