Members had planned whole summit push, but Sherpas for some reason suddenly changed their mind at C2 and denied to go any higher. Members still don’t know why. Climb abandoned on 14/05. All members down to ABC (BC) on 15/05. Team left BC on 17/05. Climb abandoned on 14/05 due to Sherpas reluctant to go higher. Oxygen: Taken for summit push, not used. Hired: Dawa Chhiring Sherpa (7700m), 1988-10-25, Lelep-9, Taplejung Ngada Sherpa (7700m), 1976-02-02, Lelep-9, Taplejung Ngima Sherpa (7700m), 1972-12-02, Jubing-9, Solukhumbu This season ended up with no summits on Cho Oyu. There were 17 members attempting for the summit. Biggest team [SummitClimb] was of 10 members whose four Sherpas started fixing ropes until C2. One Sherpa died who fell into crevasse near C2. Overall situation was that the big team called off the climbing and rest of 5 Sherpas fixed ropes until C3. At the end the due to lack of manpower the Sherpas fixing ropes gave up the work. Most of the routes have less snow, but blue ice made climbing more difficult. Weather was mostly windy.
