Route Notes CBC 06/09 4800m ABC 09/09 5700m C1 12/09 6400m C1.5 17/09 6900m C2 24/09 7200m C3 25/09 7500m Smt 26/09 by Watson, Strengell, Phurba Wangchu, Phurba Ongel Sherpa at 8:30 am. Summit team left C3 at 1 am. Straightforward climb. Perfect conditions. Spent about half an our on the top and descended to C1, where they stayed the night. On 27/09 back to ABC. Lightfoot reached 6900m on 18/09 when she was on her way to C2. She was too exhausted to continue. On the summit rotation, she reached 6700m, but was too exhausted again and gave up. Helsen reached C1 on 12/09 on first rotation. He found it too hard and gave up. He left the expedition on 18/09. James reached 6900m on the second rotation with Lightfoot and again to 6700m on the summit rotation. He accompanied her down and gave up his summit bid. Team left ABC on 30/09.
