| Route Notes | CBC 16/04 4800m ABC 22/04 5700m C1 22/04 6400m C2 01/05 7200m Smt 13/05 by Tessier at 3:30 pm CST (1:15 pm NST). Tessier went from ABC to C2 directly on 11/05. He stayed two nights at C2 and left for the summit at 1:30 am (CST) on 13/05. The weather was cold with light winds. He stayed for an hour and descended to C2, where he arrived at 7 pm. On 14/05 he dismantled his C2, descended to C1. He tried to dismantle his tent at C1, but it was frozen to the ground and he could not remove it as it was covered in ice. He continued to ABC. When he was at C2 he spoke to the young South Korean (with Satori) and told him to go down with him, but the Korean said that he wanted to stay. When Tessier was at ABC, there was a rescue team who brought the South Korean down to C1. He was very unwell and apparently died at C1 on 15/05. Oxygen: not taken, not used |
