The fixed ropes were already in from Alpenglow Expeditions. Straightforward climb. Up to the Yellow Band he could keep up with the people using oxygen, but from there it got harder. He met Domenech from Andorra (who summited at 1:30 pm) on the plateau. He gave him water and some food. On the plateau, he met Felix Berg and his client and Franck Tessier, who were on their way down. When he reached the summit, the weather came in and it was cloudy. He spent about 1 minute on the summit and descended to C2, where he arrived at 8 pm. Shin from South Korea (Satori team) was also on the summit push with them. He turned back at around 8000m at about 3:30 pm as he was very tired. He returned to C2, where he arrived at about 7 pm. Skatov shared a tent with Felix Berg and his client, who left at 2 pm to go down to BC. On 14/05, he left C2 at 1:30 pm. He had been waiting for someone from CTMA to help him carry down the tent, but they never arrived, hence he left so late. He talked to Shin, who was in his tent and told him to go down as well, but he said he did not want to go down. He said he would come later. At 1:30 pm Skatov packed up his camp, descended to C1, where he arrived at 4 pm, dismantled his camp there and reached ABC at 8:20 pm. According to Skatov, a rescue team went up to C2 to look for Shin at 8 am on 15/05. When they reached him, he was still alive, but weak and they gave him oxygen and helped him down to C1, where he apparently died. On 15/05 Skatov left BC and went to Tingri, where he stayed until 18/05. He had intended to climb Everest, but he was not allowed to go without Sherpa. He left Everest BC and returned to Kathmandu. Oxygen: not taken, not used
