Route Notes BC 28/04 4900m ABC 28/04 5700m C1 02/05 6400m Smt 07/05 by Jornet at 3 pm (summit was in cloud so Jornet is not 100% sure whether he reached the right point as Everest was obviously not visible. (Billi Bierling believes that he reached the right point though as he had walked on the plateau for about 30 minutes). On 3 May Jornet and Forsberg reached 7500m during their first summit push, but turned back because of the weather. They returned to ABC. They rested for a couple of days and went back to C1 on 6 May. Jornet and Forsberg started at 1 am from 6400m. Forsberg turned back at around 7700m at 11 am. It started to snow and the Yellow Band had not been fixed and it was very icy. She felt that she could probably go up, but would struggle to come down. She descended to ABC. Jornet continued and reached summit at 3 pm. He spent about 10 minutes on the summit and descended to C1, picked up the tent that Forsberg had packed up and descended to ABC, where he reached at 6:30 pm. Oxygen: not taken, not used. Note: Jornet later acknowledged to Outside Magazine that he stopped at the summit plateau as that was enough since he was training for Everest.
