Geluk was intending to climb both Cho Oyu and Shishapangma, so when the avalanche happened Geluk and Lhakpa Wangcbu were at crampon point of Shishapangma. They were in complete fog and could not see what was happening. After the mountains stopped shedding rocks and ice, they descended to ABC and left to come back to Kathmandu.
They never reached Cho Oyu BC.
