Route Notes This climb was organized by Cho Oyu Trekking, who considered them as one team, but actually there were three separated parties who arrived in Nepal on different dates and stayed in two different hotels, and climbed separately with no leadership. The only members who knew of the other were the two Italians who did not know each other. All of them left Kathmandu together on 11 September by road to BC and returned together by road from BC on 9 October. Only one party, the Italians, had one Sherpa with them, and they took medical oxygen along but did not use it. No one in the group became frostbitten or seriously ill, nor had any accidents. The Italians, Antonio Magliacano and Giorgio Brunori, arrived in Kathmandu on 8 September and stayed in the Malla Hotel. The Ecuadorian, Ms. Carla Perez, also arrived on 8 September, while the Romanian, Justin Ionescu, arrived on the 1st, and the two went to the Hotel Thamel. For much of the climb, the three parties climbed independently of each other and made separate camps. Their progress up the mountain was roughly as follows: Chinese BC was reached by all together at 4900m on 17 September, and ABC together at 5600m on 19 September. Then they moved separately. Perez apparently was the best climber in the group. She pitched her C1 at 6400m on 20 September. All members got to C1 at 6400m on 20 September. Perez and Ionescu carried on to the top, but the two Italians dropped out well below. Brunori got midway between C1 and C2 on 16 September, but then turned around because he was tired and had a bad cough; he went down to ABC. Magliacano climbed up on 3 October from C2 to reach 7350m before giving up in the face of strong winds and retreating to C2. Their Sherpa, Pemba Gelje, climbed first with Brunori and then with Magliacano. The only summiters were Ms. Clara Perez from Ecuador and Justin Ionescu from Romania. They left C3 for the top at 1:30 am on 2 October. Perez was on the summit at 7:15 am and Ionescu followed at 9:30 am. Sherpa: Pemba Gelje, 30/12/91, Jubing, Solu Claims Everest ascents in 2012 with Simone Moro (no one summited with this team) and in 2013 with an Indian team with Ashwami Kumar (confirmed)
