Route Notes BC 10/09 5000m ABC 14/09 5700m C1 17/09 6400m C2 22/09 7200m C3 01/10 7400m Smt 02/10 by Garcia at 9:20 am, Piazaola at 8:30 am, Urrate at 9 am (NST). Team started from C3 at 11:30 pm (NST). Weather was good. After about 30 minutes Garcia already noticed that his feet were very cold, but carried on. They climbed very slowly and stayed for about 40 minutes on the summit. They descended to C3, where they arrived at 11 am. Due to the wind, their tent was buried in snow and they had to dig for one hour hour to get it out. In C3 Garcia noticed that he had frostbite on both feet. It would have been better for the team to descend to C2 that day, but they were too tired. On 3 Oct they descended to ABC. Oxygen: Not taken, not used.
Accidents Garcia has bad frostbite on both feet
