| Route Notes | The Kim team left C3 at 4 am (CST) on 23 September. Kim, Son and Pemba reached summit at 12 noon (9:45 am NST) along with other 2 Korean climbers of Dynamic Busan - Kim Chang-Ho, Seo and independent climber Kim Hong-Bin. They stayed on summit for about 50 minutes and descended to C3 where they spent the night. Next day 24 Sept the team went down to ABC. The summiters saw Everest and Lhotse for a short time. They did not find any Lungta flags on the summit. Son put the oxygen cyclinder at the summit point with Khata. The summit day weather was cloudy, windy and knee deep snow. Kim started Kolon Sport project in 2007 to climb 14 peaks above 8000m. The Project completed in 23 Sept 2011. The Project included another Korean member Miss Go who had climbed 11 peaks above 8000m. She died on Nanga Parbat on her descent in 2009 July. Sherpas: Pemba Dorchi Sherpa, 1/9/1984, Makalu-5 Tashi Sherpa went up to C2; he suffered from chest pain, headache and stomach problem. |
