Merz went to 6300m on 5 May, but decided to abandon the climb because of a heart condition; he left the team on 10 May. Mooney quit at 5000m on the way to ABC on 30 April; he was very tired and not acclimatizing, and he he left the team the same day. Tulit went to C2 on 11 May, but developed a bad chest infection and left from ABC on about the 16th. Sukos also got to C2 on 11 May, but now had symptoms of pulmonary edema and left with Tulit on about the 16th. The only members who used oxygen were Kausch and McDonald, and they used it from C3 to the summit to C3. The others and the two Sherpas used none at all.
