Route Notes C1.5 was made on the first summit push. The team were the first group to try for the summit, were alone in C1 and slept another team's tent. They arrived in C1.5 on 3 May and moved up to C2 on the 4th. They left C2 for the top at 4:00 am (NST). Vinot went to 7900m with Serap, but they returned to C2 because Vinot had a chest infection. Salomon reached 8000m at 1:00 pm; he had to help break trail between C2 and C3 in fresh snow that had fallen during the previous night which took three hours to ascend from C2 to C3 at 7600m, so now it was too late for him to continue his attempt for the summit. Furthermore, large avalanches were gathering. He also retreated to C2. The team returned to ABC on the 5th. On the 10th Salomon started a second bid for the top. With Serap, he moved to C1 that day and to C2 on the 11th and on the 12th to C3. On 13 May Salomon and Serap left C3 at 3:00 am, gained the summit at 10:30 am and were back in C2 at 4:00 pm. They returned to ABC on 14th. The team's climb was now finished. Vinot was not interested to go up again.
