Route Notes Grom, Pasang Tendi and Lama Babu along with Amos, Lacey and Scaife left C1 at 9 am (NST) on 25 Sept. It was very warm and it had snowed a lot. Amos, Lacey and Scaife reached about 6900m (above the ice cliff), but turned around at 1 pm as it was getting late in the day and the team was only going to touch C2. Pasang Tendi had already been to C2 and dropped his load and when he came down the team turned back with him. Grom carried on to C2 without the group and dropped his load at about 1:40 pm. He then descended to C1, where he met the others. They all spent the night there. The next day they all went back to ABC. Pasang Tendi, together with six other Sherpas from IMG, AC and HG did some rope fixing on 28 Sept. They left C2 at 7:45 am to go above C3 and fix the rope at the Yellow Band. When they reached about 7900m at noon, they triggered a slab avalanche, which was about 1 meter thick. The Sherpas were clipped to a rope and fell about 50m. Fortunately one anchor to which the rope was fixed held, which probably saved the Sherpas lives. Nobody was seriously injured. After the avalanche happened the Sherpas descended to C1, where they met Grom and then continued to ABC. The 28th was also the day on which Grom's team tried another summit push. During this attempt they stayed two nights at C1, but the weather was too bad, so they abandoned the climb on 1 October. Sherpas: Pasang Tendi, Yaphu-9, Makalu, 27/10/83, Everest X8 (in 2009 with RMI) Lama Babu, Cheremy, Bung-9, Solu, 23/09/1968, Everest X4 Oxygen: Taken, not used
