| Route Notes | High point at normal C2. On 26 September, Hastelsteiner climbed up to 7100m to place a tent there, the usual site for C2, for future use. He then returned to the team's low C2 and joined the other members the next day in their descent to ABC. This altitude of 7100m turned out to be the highest point that any of them reached. In the whole team's bid for the summit, the four members started up from C1 on 1 October and reached their low C2 at 6850m. But the strong cold wind drove them down to C1 on the 2nd and on the 3rd to ABC. They now abandoned the climb. |
