Route Notes Three members Koch, Malber and Woodman, left the expedition on 13 May because they were not acclimatizing well and they had had enough. The other three got to the top. The three successful ones, Lally, Long and Szymiec, with two Sherpas, Lhakpa Sherpa and Pasang Bhote, began their summit push from ABC on 21 May and climbed to C1. On the 22nd they moved up to C2, and the next day they established C3. They left C3 at 15 minutes past midnight of the 23/24 May (NST) and were on the summit between 7:00 am and 7:30 am of the 24th in warm weather with light wind. But it was snowing, and they had no view of other mountains from the top; they stood beside the collection of prayer flags and oxygen bottles that marked the summit. The five summiters returned to C2 at 6:00 pm and next day, the 25th, they were back in ABC. Oxygen was used by Lally, Long and the two Sherpas from C3 to the top to C3. Szymiec's oxygen malfunctioned that day until he reached the summit, where the Sherpas restored the flow, and he then used oxygen from the top to C3. Sherpas: Lhakpa Sherpa, 20/6/75, Sotang-6, Solu, no 8000ers Pasang Bhote, 19/5/86, Chepuwa-1, Makalu vdc, Everest X5, Cho Oyu X2
