| Route Notes | The team started from C3 at midnight. The weather was calm with low clouds. Straightforward climb. Two Italians and an Austrian were about one hour behind them. They stayed about half an hour on the summit an descended to C2, where they arrived at 6 pm (Nepali Time). The next day they descended to ABC. Rope fixing: Lhakpa Sherpa refixed about 10m of the rope on the ice cliff between C1 and C2. Oxygen: From C3 to summit to 7050m by Hollingworth; none by Lhakpa. He did not know where Lhakpa Sherpa was from, but he told me that Lhakpa Sherpa had climbed Cho Oyu in 2008 (I guess in autumn) and he rescued the Sultan of Oman from the south of summit of Everest (also in 2008 spring). |
