| Route Notes | Matsumoto and Dorje left C3 at 11:00 pm (NST) on 23 September to go to the top. They reached the summit at 6:00 am on the 24th and saw Everest. They descended to C2 at 3:00 pm. They went to C1 on the 25th and ABC on the 26th. Now they had to wait for the yaks to arrive at ABC to take them and their baggage; they finally left ABC on 7 October, then went through BC to Tingri on their way to Xixabangma. Matsumoto used two bottles of oxygen climbing from C3 to the summit and back to C3. Dorje used none. They attempted to climb Xixabangma, but did not reach the summit.
