| Route Notes | Dobes, Dzugan and Sperka left C3 on 26 September at 5:00 am (Chinese time) for the top. It took them one and a half hours to cross the summit plateau because 30 cm of fresh snow had fallen during the previous night. So it was 3:00 pm when they finally reached the summit, from where saw a panorama of mountains including Everest. They returned to C3 at 6:00 pm. On the 27th they descended to C1 and on the 28th to ABC. The weather was extremely cold, and Dobes and Dzugan each got five frostbitten fingers when they took off their gloves to take pictures, but their fingers will heal. Poliak reached C2, had difficulty breathing, and descended to BC. |
