Route Notes Weidlich's summit push began on 22 September, when she left ABC for C1. She went to C2 on the 23rd, but only to rest and have some tea before going for the top at 10:45 pm (NST) with Mingma Sherpa. She reached the summit at 6:30 am on the 24th and saw Everest and Makalu; she didn't know what peaks she was looking at until Victor Saunders, who was there at the same time, identified them for her. Weidlich returned to C2 at 9:30 am, rested and continued down to C1, where she arrived at 3:00 pm, and where she spent that night. She was in ABC on the 25th and left it on the 28th to go to Xixabangma BC. She reached 7000m on Xixabangma, found the route above there too difficult, and left the mountain on 8 October. On Cho Oyu she had used oxygen for only 10 minutes while she helped a member of a British expedition led by Tim Calder get back on his feet until a teammate joined him. Mingma used none. Sherpa: Mingma Sherpa, 21/2/68, Yilajung, Khumbu, Everest X8
