Route Notes Two members set out from C3 for the summit on 27 September at 1:30 am (Chinese time) with the team's four Sherpas and one Tibetan, but one member dropped out on the ay up and a Sherpa descended with him. Those who left for the top were Coster, Dixon, Fable, Kiphart, Marsh, Mazur, Patch, [Plantenberg], Schulze, Vickers, Sherpas Jangbu, Da Jangbu, Lhakpa Gelu and Thile Nurbu, plus Asu (Chinese). Schulze got to 7700m at 8:00 am, but was climbing too slowly for any chance to reach the summit; he turned around and went down to C2 with Lhakpa Gelu. All the remaining climbers summited: Kiphart was the first successful member at 8:20 am, and Vickers brought up the rear at 10:20 am. Coster and Mazur descended to C1 that day, while all the others stopped to C3. All were in ABC on the 28th. Oxygen: Dixon, Vickers and all the Sherpas used none. All the others in the summit party used it in and from C3, to their high points, to and in C3. Non-summiting members: Johnston got to C2; lost motivation and left the expedition on 24 September. Schulze reached only 7700m with the summit party, as stated above. Wilde reached C1, lost motivation and left on 22 September. Sherpas: Small (Da) Jangbu Sherpa, 22/2/81, Kharikhola, Solu, Everest X3 Jangbu Sherpa, 24/5/67 (10/2/2024), Patle, Okhaldhunga, Cho Oyu X3, Everest X4, Lhotse X1 Lhakpa Gelu, 13/4/77, Thumduk, Beni-3, Solu, Cho Oyu X1, Everest X4, Lhotse X1 Thile Nurbu, 26/8/74 (13/2/2031), Chaplung, Chaurikharka-3, Solu, Everest X4, Lhotse X1 Chinese Hired: Asu Chang [Rongqin Su], climbing instructor in Chengdu, no 8000ers
