Route Notes BC at CBC/IC on 15 Sept at 5300m. Corominas, Rafols and Via Trotonda left C3 at 9:30 am CST of 4 Oct. Rafols reached summit Rafols at 4:30 pm (2:15 NST), Corominas and Via Trotonda at 5:30 pm (3:15 NST). Rafols waited for Corominas and Via Trotonda at the summit. After about 30 minutes all descended to C3 at around 7 pm. Next day descended to ABC. Ahead of Rafols there were two Italians. While on ascent the Spanish team crossed five climbers with oxygen plus some Sherpas at about half-way between C3 and summit. Corominas also saw a woman descending on the west side of rock band. The weather on the summit was very good but cold. Below the summit plateau there was cloud; saw top of Sishapangma, Everest, Lhotse. Other members of the team, Borras and Nuez, went up to C2 on 3 Oct. Both were exhausted and gave up climbing. Cuyas went up to around 6600m on 2 Oct; he was physically fit, but lacked climbing skills and did not try further climbing. Gutierrez slept at C1 on 22 Sept. He suffered from bronchitis, and rest of time he stayed at ABC. Oliver slept at C1 on 23 Sept. He was exhausted and had acclimatization problem. Did not try further climbing, but stayed at ABC. Puig slept at C2 on 23 Sept. He suffered from tooth infection and was on antibiotics that affected his acclimatization process and he remained at ABC. Torres remained at ABC all the time due to acclimatization problem. The team returned to Kathamandu on 9 Oct and will leave on 13 Oct.
