Route Notes Team left C2 at 10 pm (CST) on 2 Oct. It was very cold and windy. They arrived at C3 at 1 am (CST) on 3 Oct. They went into an empty tent to warm up and stayed there until 9 am. The trail was good. They saw Everest from top (on top at 5 pm CST). Stayed on summit for about 1/2 hour. They met Francoise and Martine Marsigny from France. Johnson and Rory Stark descended on skies. They traversed left across yellow band and skied down left of rock band and skied to C2. It took them about 45 minutes. William Stark did not carry his skies to the summit as he was not feeling well and felt weak. He knew that carrying skies would be too strenous, so he descended by foot and arrived at C2 at 7:45 pm. Whole team spent night at C2 on 4 Oct. Taylor and Rory Stark skied down all the way from C2 to ABC. They clipped into the fixed line around icefall, but it was a full ski descent. They skied down the route they ascended. They all met up at C1 and descended to ABC together. No skiing was done on acclimatization trips. Johnson and Rory Stark did four carries to C3, but only used C1 on 16 Sept.
