Route Notes Summit team left C3 at 1 am. Weather was clear but cold and windy. Snow condition good. Good views of Everest. They spent about 1/2 hour on summit. Team apart from Brupacher descended to ABC, where they arrived at 1 pm. Bindig reached high point intermediate camp about 6000m on 10 Sept. He was not feeling well and felt homesick, so he returned to Kathmandu (left expedition about 12 Oct). Culmsee reached C2 on 2 Oct, stayed the night, then descended to ABC on 3 Oct due to exhaustion. Goerlich reached 7300m on 3 Oct, turned back due to exhaustion, and descended to C1. Jasper reached C1 on 16 Sept and 20 Sept. He was struggling with altitude and abandoned climb. He left BC on 24 Sept. Lieske got to 7300m on 3 Oct, turned back due to back pain, and descended to C1. Anneliesa and Roland Maruna got to C1 on 1 Oct. They did not feel well and turned back to ABC. Santer reached 7600m on 4 Oct and turned back at around 2:30 am due to dissatisfaction with his gear. Schoenhoff reached C2 on 3 Oct, stayed the night, and descended to C1 on 4 Oct. Tschannen reached 7300m on 3 Oct and turned back due to exhaustion.
