| Route Notes | According to Chinese web site (www.mt8848.com), the team summited Sirdar was Tashi Tshering (Tshaxi Tse Ren). From your name list of the Tibetans, I can recognize and confirm the following from my memory. 1 Tibetan leader (Nawang Norbu, also the Sherpa of Shi Wang) 2 Qimi Tashi, the Sherpa of Zong-Hua Huang 3 Dechen Narjup, the Sherpa of Zi-Qiang Qiu 4 Tashi Tsering, the Sherpa of Ms. Jing Wang 5 There were definitely Norbu and Wangchen in the summiting team. 6 I couldn't recall who is Sonam Tashi. He may be the Sherpa to break the trails. 7 The Sherpa of Christopher Barclay is missing in your list. He was definitely in the summiting team. His name is Tsering Danda (again I am spelling his name in Chinese way. He is the brother of Ms. Tsering Wangmu who was the girl holding Olympic torch on Everest summit last year. I think he might be also on the Everest summit last year). 8 From my memory, all Tibetans did not use oxygen that day. For the five climbers (non-Tibetans) on 2007 Cho Oyu, Christopher Barclay and Jing Wang used oxygen for sleep at high camp (c3, ~7500m). Shi Wang, Zong-Hua Huang, and I did not use oxygen at C3 because we were thinking to summit without using oxygen. But at big snow changed our mind so that Zong-Hua Huang and I started to use oxygen at the departure of C3, but Shi Wang didn't use until he climbed to somewhere and felt he needed to use oxygen. |
