Route Notes	All members left C2 for the summit with Spaniard Javier Campos at 10:45 pm NST 22 Sept, but Modolo and Sebastiani turned back only 100m above C2 because one was not feeling well and they rested in C2 while Andreatta and Tonidandel went to top, which they reached at 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm 23 Sept. They saw Everest and Lhotse clearly, then returned to C2 at 7:00 pm (Andreatta) and 8:30 pm (Tonidandel with Campos); spent night in C2 with other 2 Italians. Down to ABC on 24th and left 1st Oct. Modolo and Sebastiani descended to ABC because of bad weather; on 27th they went to Nangpa La and back. 28th up to C1 but strong wind broke tents and on 24th back to ABC. 1st Oct again to C1, 2nd to C2, 3rd made C3 and on 4th went to summit. Left C3 at 2:15 am NST on 4th and summited at 11:45 am, stayed there one hour waiting for fog to lift: it finally did and they saw Everest (they have pictures). Back to C3 on 4:15 pm; 5th to ABC at 8:45 pm in dark; 6th to BC, to Zangmu and on to KTM 7th. At midnight of the 7th, Modolo had a stroke on his left side and was hospitalized; by 9th he was very nearly normal and should leave Kathmandu shortly but will go to hospital in Italy for checkup.
