| Route Notes | Moiseev, Politiko, Makovkin and Podlesny left C2 at 4 am. It was very cold, slight wind. Moiseev and Makovkin got 7600m (below rock band) but turned back due to cold and Moiseev was feeling sick. They turned back at 8 am. Politiko got to 7900m (above rock band) but turned back due to cold at 9 am. Podlesny got to top at 12 noon and stayed there for 20 minutes. No views. He saw 3 oxygen bottles on top. He returned to C2 where other three were waitng for him. He arrived at 2 pm. All four dismantled C2 and descended to ABC. Shevchenko and Zhuralev got to C1 on 7 Oct but abandoned climb due to lack of physical strength. Iskhakov did not get beyond ABC due to cold; he left ABC around the 3rd October, came back to Kathmandu and flew to Pokhara. |
