| Route Notes | High point of 8100m at summit plateau. ABC 20 meters lower than normal site, which was so crowded there was no room for this team. First summit party (Anonuevo, Pablo and Pasang Nuru) left C2 at midnight of 6-7 Oct (NST), reached plateau at 8100m at 11:00 am, wind was very strong and they returned to C2; to C1 next night. Second summit party (Dayandon, Wenceslao and Lhakpa Gyalzen) left C2 at 2:00 am, also climbed to summit plateau, also were defeated by wind and down to C2 and to ABC next day. Oxygen used: members from 7400m to plateau to and in C2. Pablo's boots were too small and the tips of his toes frostbitten; also his left thumb and other finger tips were frostbitten. Sherpas: Pasang Nuru, 17/5/74, Bacha VDC, Solu, Everest 18/5/06 Lhakpa Gyalzen, 1975, Paiya village, Jubing, Solu, Everest X3 Non-summit team members: Aquino was ABC manager, climbed to between ABC and C1 once. Esguerra, expedition doctor, stayed in ABC except for one trip halfway to C1. |
