Route Notes Summit team left C3 at 1:30 (NST). Weather was clear but windy. Good views of Everest. They spent 1 hour on the summit. They descended to C2, where they arrived at 1:30 pm. Next day they descended to C2 where they arrived at 1:30 pm. Next day they descended to ABC. Malo suffered a stroke on 15 Sept at 10:15 am at 5850m just below "killer slope." He collapsed and Danvoye gave him dexamethasone and called his Sherpas. Luis Benitas and Victor Saunders were also involved in rescue. At about 12 noon 15 Sherpas carried Malo down the night with doctors from Xtrem Everest, who Danvoye thinks saved his life. The next day 10 Tibetans and 2 Sherpas carried him to roadside. Danvoye, Chris Imray from Xtreme Everest were with Malo. They drove to Zhangmu on 16 Sept; on 17 Sept they drove to Tatopani from where they took a helicopter to Kathmandu. Malo spent 6 nights in the Norvic hospital and was flown to Canada on 22 Sept. He is now in hospital in Montreal. Danvoye returned to Tingri on 21 Sept and was back at ABC on 22 Sept at 2 pm. Marois reached C2 on 19 Sept, spent the night there but returned due to stomach problems. He left ABC on 30 Sept. Setlakwe reached C2 on 30 Sept. He did not feel well and decided to descended to ABC.
