Route Notes Harald and Martina Bauer, Leitner and Ang Nima Rai left C3 at 3 am (NT). Ang Nima Rai felt too sick and immediately turned around and descended to C2. Harald Bauer turned back at 7500m due to sickness/nausea; Martina turned back at 7700m due to fatigue. The weather was clear. Leitner carried on to summit and arrived at 8:45 am. No wind on summit, saw Everest. He spent 1 hour on summit and descended to C2, where he arrived at 3 pm. Harald, Martina and Ang Nima also spent the night at C2. Berghuis reached C1 on 8 Sept, but did not stay the night; he abandoned climb due to flu and lack of mental strength. Buys-Den Ouden and Buys Willem reached C1 on 8 Sept, but did not stay the night; both abandoned climb due to lack of technical skills. Kurzeder reached ABC but could not go any higher due to HAPE. He descended to Tingri on 6 Sept and stayed there for two nights. He returned to ABC where he stayed for the rest of expedition. Van Den Broeke reached 6400m (just below serac) on 12 Sept, then turned back due to exhaustion and weakness. He got to the same point again on 16 Sept and turned back due to same reasons. Chuldim Sherpa (10/09/71, Khumjung, Cho Oyu X7) reached C2 on 15 Sept, but did not go higher due to lack of motivation. Ang Nima Rai (Namche, 14/08/67) reached C3 on 30 Sept.
